   - Organic/inorganic chemistry, hydrocarbons. 

4. Introduction to Petroleum Engineering 

   - Overview of upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors. 

5. Engineering Graphics & CAD

   - Technical drawing, AutoCAD basics. 

6. Lab-I 

   - Basic fluid mechanics experiments, material testing. 

 

Semester 2 

1. Mathematics-II 

   - Probability, statistics, Fourier transforms. 

2. Geology for Petroleum Engineers 

   - Sedimentary basins, rock types, stratigraphy. 

3. Programming in Python/C++ 

   - Basics for reservoir simulation and data analysis. 

4. Mechanical Engineering Basics

Year 2: Core Petroleum Engineering

1. Drilling Engineering-I

   - PVT analysis, phase behavior, fluid flow in porous media. 

3. Strength of Materials 

   - Stress-strain, material selection for drilling tools.

   - Drilling fluid rheology tests, core flooding experiments. 

 

Semester 4 

1. Drilling Engineering-II 

   - Directional drilling, casing design, blowout prevention. 

2. Reservoir Engineering-I 

   - Material balance, Darcy’s law, reservoir drive mechanisms. 

3. Petroleum Geology 

   - Trap types, source rocks, migration pathways. 

4. Thermodynamics for Petroleum Systems 

   - Phase equilibria, heat transfer in wells. 

5. Lab-IV 

   - Well-log interpretation, reservoir simulation basics (ECLIPSE/PETREL). 

 

Year 3: Advanced Reservoir & Production Engineering 

Semester 5 

1. Reservoir Engineering-II 

   - Enhanced oil recovery (EOR), waterflooding, gas injection. 

2. Production Engineering 

   - Artificial lift systems (ESP, gas lift), nodal analysis. 

3. Formation Evaluation

   - Well logging (gamma ray, resistivity, neutron-density).

   - Offshore Engineering or Unconventional Resources (Shale Gas, Hydrates).
